When I typed "logotype" on Merriam Webster, they defined it as "an identifying symbol as for use in advertising". Logotype and symbol are so much related to each other. In fact they complete each other. Logotype is the part where fonts are used in order to create a balance when designing a logo. To give an example, if we were to design a logo of a brand, the fonts we use and how we use them etc. determine the logotype of that brand. On the other hand the circles, lines etc which mostly surrounds, covers the logotype and is used to finish the design is the symbol. They have certain characteristics which symbolize the brand.
Pictograms are photographical images which symbolize a lot of things. For example traffic signs are pictograms. They don't have any written word on them but they represent the rules we shall obey when we're driving. They are also used in purpose of those people who cannot read, nor write. They can understand what the signs are trying to symbolize. They make life easier.
